MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Somers Point library media program is to ensure that
students and staff are effective users of
ideas and information. It is our goal that the students and staff will gain a
clear perception of the library as a prime resource
in the search for knowledge. This mission is accomplished:
- By providing
intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats
- By providing
instruction to foster competence in accessing and using information and
ideas
- By exposing students
to a variety of literature genres in an effort to stimulate a lifetime
appreciation of and interest in reading
- By working with the
staff and other educators to design learning strategies to meet the
needs of our students and to support the curriculum of the Somers Point
school district
